Corvids-19
When this wretched virus first struck, the name "Covid" immediately made me think of crows, as their family name is "Corvid" and of course this painting became my lock-down work and in my eyes, my most importrant.
Six jackdaws, four rooks, three hooded crows, four carrion crows and two ravens make up the numbers, all have their own character and all seem uneasy.
I haven't painted any of these birds for about thirty five years and it was fascinating observing how although predominantly black, jackdaws have a greeny tinge, rooks purple etc.
A true one off.
