Partridges in Chatsworth Park
A covey of grey partridges on a cold January morning in Chatsworth park. A painting which was on my big easel for over 10 months, with me working on and off it in that time. I am reliably informed by those in the know, that the English partridge depicted here would be highly unlikely to appear in this area, so close to the House...but that's the joy of artist's licence I suppose!..and besides, I know from the antics of my own free-flying partridge, they can turn up in the most surprising places!
This painting is truly special to me.
