The Lady in the Lane

This painting was begun in 2012, worked on, then put away and forgotten about until the beginning of 2021 when I finished it during the last lockdown.
A view from the top of the lane above the studio, looking west, on a late winters afternoon.
I don't put many people in my paintings but the whole narrative of this piece is the mysterious woman and her dog walking home through the snow in the fading January light.
